Costa Blanca or the White Coast has become a favourite spot amongst European holidaymakers. The Costa Blanca is where you can marvel at Moorish
villages like Oliva, wander through groves of olive trees in
Elche or discover hidden coves in
Teulada. The biggest attractions on the Costa Blanca are the holiday cities of the
Benidorm, Valencia and Alicante, for
parties, discos, festivals, castles and families, unlike the more traditional, tranquil areas of
Blanes, La Nucia,
Roche and Tossa .
On the Costa Blanca you will find beautiful palm-fringed beaches like in Villajoyosa,
sparkling sea in Torrevieja and masses of cafes and restaurants and beaches to satisfy your
every craving in Javea (9km from Denia) where there is a myriad of bars and
restaurants while maintaining its charm and character of Spain. Denia is at the
northern limit of the costa Blanca, dominated by a castle, the view from which unfolds the splendid urban ambiance evident in so many Costa
Blanca towns. Calpe is an oasis in the most popular tourist region of Costa Blanca, full of history
and culture, where from the beach you can marvel at Calpe rock, that towers from the sea to 332 meters. For those wishing to have more
excitement and entertainment, nearby Benidorm and Alicante offer a different charm, with an incredible proliferation of shops, outdoor cafe's
and nightlife, as does the world reknown city of Barcelona.
Lloret de Mar, as opposed to Lepe, is another
popular tourist region, the livliest on its stretch of coast in the Spanish region of Catalonia, its main selling point being its five
safe sandy beaches, ideal for families.
Costa Blanca weather enjoys mild Winters and warm Summers which makes it an ideal location to settle in retirement or for that second home in
Spain. The Costa Blanca has excellent sporting and leisure facilities and is known as a Mecca for golf in Spain. The coastline is backed by
majestic mountains and valleys, and many of Costa Blanca beaches have been awarded the EEC Blue Flag Award. In fact the World Health
Organisation has recommended that the Costa Blanca is one of the healthiest environments to live in Europe. The Costa Blanca is steeped in
history, which becomes evident with the many fiestas, or festivals that are held throughout the year, some of which are in the area of
Altea.
